Is there a way to increase run time when using factory remote start option?. Wife says vehicle doesn't run long enough to heat up seats. fist start = 11 mins, second = 8 mins. She says it's a pain to have to sart vehicle twice as opposed to once with a longer running time. Seats don't heat unless outside temp is 32 degress or lower.

Thanks,
Quadrunner

From the manual but in a nut shell remote start the Traverse then hit the lock button again and hold the start button down again and it will run for 20 minutes.
It adds 10 more minutes.

Remote Vehicle Start

Starting the Vehicle
1. Aim the RKE transmitter at the
vehicle.
2. Press Q .
3. Immediately after completing
Step 2, press and hold / until
the parking lamps flash.
When the vehicle starts, the parking
lamps will turn on and remain on
as long as the engine is running.
The doors will be locked and the
climate control system may
come on.

The engine will continue to run for
10 minutes. Repeat the steps for a
10-minute time extension. Remote
start can be extended only once.

not sure what to tell you mine will stay on for the 20 minutes. Try a bigger pause before hitting it the second time I usually start it then start to walk away theb remember to extend the time.

Don't know if this information will be relevant to the discussion above, since it is over one year after the last entry.

My 2011 manual states that when the time extension is performed, the first time period (10 minutes) will immediately expire and the second 10 minute time period will start.

Meaning, that if the remote start has been running for 5 minutes and you perform an extension, the total time will be 15 minutes. If you let it run till 9 minutes has elapsed and do another remote start, it will run for 19 minutes.
And, you can only perform two remotre starts per ingnition cycles, meaning you must insert the key and turn the ignition on and back off before an additional remote start procedure can be accomplished.

That sort of defeats the purpose of being able to remotely start the vehicle!
