Hi everyone,
Can anyone fill me in on what the easiest way to remove the rear bumper? Are there any sensor's I need to worry about? Base model LS.

Thanks.

Thx Medman... the bumper needs to be removed to affix a license plate mounted bike rack. Need to be able to place washers and nuts on the screw. Cannot access from below vehicle. Long story somewhat short.

would it just be easier- to install an aftermarket hitch receiver?
This way you can use a hitch mounted bike rack--- and in the future buy one of these...
hitch mounted carrying rack... these are only about $90...
I got one of these and also added LED lights/turn signals.
great for carrying junk....
just something to consider.

I do plan to purchase a hitch receiver shortly but I already have the bike rack and didn't want to purchase another as I am leaving for vacation next week and wanted to bring the bikes along. A longer term solution is the hitch which I plan to purchase. Thanks for the advice and photos.

Ive gotten excellent use out of that carrying rack.
For safety I wired in the LED's (park, turn, brake)- and I simply connect it to the electrical hitch plug.
I dont have a Traverse yet--- (I ordered a 2010 last week).... but I did order the towing option.
These LED's are BRIGHT--- They look great out on those long dark highways...
I wonder if the Traverse will handle the weight like I put on my Trailblazer below--- I think it should...
about 4.5 inch drop from weight put on it inside and on the hitch...
