I have been an Acadia fan since they hit the market in 2007. My friend sells Chevys. The Traverse is not all offensive looking, is mechanically the same as the Acadia. As near as I am able to estimate there is $2000 difference between the two, equipped how I want them. Add the $1000 loyalty rebate and you have a $3000.00 difference, I am trading in an Impala. It appears the Acadia is maintaining an incredible resale value. Kinda early to tell on the Traverse. Did anyone else here go through the same quandry? Suggestions?

Traverse vs Acadia

We looked at the Acadia but we liked the front end on the Traverse way more. Plus the changes in the body on the Traverse give it a edge on the Acadia on fuel millage.
You can option them both out almost identical but the Traverse is always a little cheaper with it's lower base price.
We looked at a couple 09 Traverses as well and they were holding their value well so far.
So it really comes down to which one you like the looks of more.

Thanks for sharing. I wasn't aware of the mileage difference.

I love the way the Acadia exterior looks (the rear end especially is more attractive than the Traverse to my eyes), but the Traverse was $2000 cheaper, like someone else pointed out, so that's what we went with. I had to blue book my 09 Traverse for banking purposes and was pleasantly surprised at the trade in value listed!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think the Traverse sits a little bit lower to the ground than the Acadia, also. There are minor interior differences that don't matter one way or the other. I know the Traverse is supposedly a little more aerodynamic, but in the real world I don't think it makes a difference.
