In regards to the question on the availability of H.U.D. on the Chevrolet Traverse. We were able to get an answer by a member of the Chevy Traverse team and can answer the question (thanks, GM!)

Unfortunately the Traverse will not be available with the H.U.D. option at launch. Future product plans are not discussed, but as of launch the H.U.D. will not be available.

Thanks for the answer. I will probably wait and purchase a 2010 Traverse. I hope by then they offer the HUD as an option.

Any word on other key differences vs. the other Lambdas? For instance, I saw (maybe on this forum) that the FWD system would be different from the other 3 - significantly cheaper. Not sure what this might mean in terms of drive-ability or reliability though. Any word?

Also, any firm date for availability at dealers? I'd love to see it up close.

I was leaning toward an '08 Outlook, but now that I've seen pics of the Traverse, I think it looks pretty nice.

It is pretty annoying that the H.U.D. option isn't available on all of the vehicles from Chevy and the rest of the GM companies. My family owns 2 vehicles right now that have H.U.D. and refuse to buy a vehicle without that option. You get so used to that feature that it is actually frustrating to drive a vehicle without it. It is a great safety feature and I would definitely pay extra to have it put in a vehicle. I really liked the Traverse I saw at a Chevy display during the month of May but if I were to buy a new vehicle soon I'd have to go with the Acadia so I can have the H.U.D.

Thank you very much and I am eagerly waiting for the HUD as an option on the Chevy. Actually I am frustrating to drive a Chevy without an HUD.

If you are waiting for a HUD on a Chevy Traverse - I know that it is not in the product plan thru 2011. Only available on the GMC Acadia.
