I thought about posting this in the "I received my order" section, but it doesn't look like that has much action yet.

Anyway, I ordered my Traverse about a month ago and picked it up yesterday. I have the 2LT, no extras, dark gray metallic. I'm not much of a car person, as far as lingo goes, but I can tell you that it is a smooth ride and handles beautifully. My only concern is the carseat factor. I thought that I would be able to put two carseats in the third row, but I can only put one back there.

As for the limited number of colors available, I cannot remember the reasoning behind it, but eventually all colors will be available. I want to say that the black and red will be available last, but I don't know that for sure.

Awesome RSK, do you have any pictures to share?

Perhaps we need to put up a picture share section as well, or maybe just keep it in the "my order is in" section?

Also....why not get things going on there? It has to start somewhere, right?

Congratulations on your purchase of the Traverse and I'm personally hoping you stick around to update us on how it goes!

Our Traverse is here too! It's silver with the light gray leather interior, a 2LT. It looks great! We don't have it yet though. The dealer asked if they could hold on to it for a few days. It seems that this is the only Traverse in the metropolitan area, and have they lots of folks who would like to see one. The dealer has been really good to us and our family for years, so we said OK. I'm eager to get it though. It should be quite a change from the Upldander!

I do not have any pictures yet, sorry. Is it possible to move this post to the correct section?

Gilbert, wow, you agreed to let the dealership keep your car for a while? Are they letting people test drive it? The manager of the dealership I went to had to keep the keys in his pocket because all the employees wanted to test drive it.

man.... yeah make sure they lock the keys cause---- I can see 200 people testing out your new vehicle.... sitting in it, getting it dirty etc...
it better have 10 miles or less when you get it...

Well, we finally got the car a few days ago. It had 13 miles on it. We probably put on 4 of those miles during a nice long test drive shortly after it first arrived. The dealer did a good job of cleaning it up, so no harm, no foul. Today we received one of those small local newspapers that is mostly ads. The entire back page was an ad for our dealer. It was touting that they were now accepting orders for the 2009 Traverse, and there at the top was a big picture of our car parked in front of the dealership. So, I guess that we're still helping them sell Traverses. Pretty cool!

We have a silver FWD 2LT with light grey leather interior and the rear seat DVD entertainment system. The ride is very smooth and quiet. It's a real pleasure to drive! I think that Chevy has a winner in this vehicle.

Here's something interesting to watch...

http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/steven_...d_carseats.html

Doesn't bug me one way or the other as mine are old enough to ride without seats anymore. But this guy's research is very eye opening. He doesn't exactly say no to car seats (he sounds as if he tries, but still recommends the proper use of safety.) However, his number show no change in child deaths over 1 year of age whether using or not using car seats. He does recommend a more simple solution and less expensive solution. Good video to watch. Makes you think, which alone is a step in a good direction, no matter the path.
